Long before the title of Messenger was his…
Before the first verses of the Qur’an descended upon his heart…
Before the world would know him as a mercy to all creation…
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was already solving problems, forging peace, and earning a name that said it all: Al-Amīn—The Trustworthy One.
The lesson came during the reconstruction of the Ka‘bah. A dispute erupted among the Qurayshi tribes, each demanding the singular honour of placing the sacred Black Stone back into its place.
Pride swelled. Tempers ignited. The situation teetered on the brink of violence.
Then, a solution was proposed: “Let the next person to enter through the gate be our judge.” And as destiny would have it, the man who walked in was Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. A collective sigh of relief echoed through the crowd. They had found their Al-Amīn.
With impeccable wisdom, he asked for a cloth. Placing the Black Stone upon it, he invited a leader from every tribe to lift a corner of the cloth together. Then, with his own blessed hands, he set the Stone in its final position.
No one was excluded. No ego was bruised. No blood was spilled. Only unity was forged. Even before the dawn of revelation, the Prophet ﷺ was a living embodiment of justice, humility, and divinely-inspired wisdom.
